(the) News of the World
a British ↑tabloid Sunday newspaper, owned by Rupert Murdoch. It is one of Britain’s ↑best-selling newspapers, and consists mainly of news about sport, crime and famous people such as film and television actors or members of the ↑royal family. It was first published in 1843.
